About GreenHaven Garden Care
I set up GreenHaven Garden Care as a straightforward, honest garden-maintenance service for homeowners in Worthing. Every enquiry, quote and visit is handled by me, so customers always know who is coming to their property and who is answering their questions.
GreenHaven Garden Care is independently owned and operated by Sujata Tamang as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. There is no call centre, no franchise, no third-party dispatch service — just me, my tools, and the customer I have agreed to work for that day.
Why I started the service
I started GreenHaven because I noticed how difficult it can be for busy homeowners, landlords and older residents to find a small, dependable gardener who explains the work clearly and stays within the agreed scope. Too often, garden work is priced vaguely, extras appear without warning, and it is difficult to know what has actually been done. I wanted to offer something more transparent.
My approach to residential garden care
I focus on practical, achievable maintenance rather than dramatic redesigns. Most of my work involves tidying, mowing, edging, hedge trimming, border preparation, pathway cleaning and clearly defined refresh projects. If a customer needs something outside my scope — tree surgery, structural landscaping, chemical treatments, or specialist arboricultural work — I say so honestly and suggest they speak to an appropriately qualified specialist.
Understanding each customer's needs
Before I quote or book any work, I take time to understand what the customer actually wants. A "garden tidy" can mean very different things depending on the size, condition and priorities of the space, so I ask questions, request photographs where possible, and confirm the scope in writing or by clear message before any package is purchased.
Clear service scopes
Every package on this website lists exactly what is included. If something a customer wants is not covered — for example large volumes of waste removal, purchase of plants or materials, or additional labour outside the visit duration — I quote it separately and only proceed once the customer has agreed.
Respecting customer property
I treat every garden as if it were my own. That means arriving at the agreed time, being careful with driveways, paths, plants and structures, cleaning up after the work, and leaving the site tidy and secure. If pets or children are present, I always ask the customer how they would like access managed.
Garden access and preparation
Simple things make a big difference — clear access, an outdoor tap for water where possible, a socket if power tools are needed, and any special notes about gates, locks, alarms or neighbours. I explain what to prepare when I confirm each booking so the visit runs smoothly.
Communication before and after the visit
I confirm each appointment a day or two beforehand, let the customer know when I am on my way, and provide a short summary once the work is complete. If anything unexpected comes up — weather, access issues, or hidden garden conditions — I contact the customer straight away rather than making decisions on their behalf.
My quality-check process
Before I leave any job, I walk through the worked area, check the finish, remove any tools and debris, and take a moment to make sure everything is as agreed. Where useful, I take before-and-after photographs so the customer can see the change even if they were not on site.
